Luminary – Applause for Jan Albert and the successful fundraiser. $25,500 was gross total. Thank you to all those who assisted.
Shopping Cards – Pam Alexander said that the profit to date from the program was approximately $2,000. She believed that the recession was impacting sales and would plan on selling at the upcoming mandatory Europe meetings.
Europe travel update– Information on spreadsheet for chaperones /medical information. All those traveling will be asked to bring passports to March meeting to verify and confirm that they are signed. “Flexible” is the word for travel to Europe. Room assignments will depend on facility. Informational meetings scheduled on February 8th for just chaperones and February 9th for everyone.
Adult Staffing - Lori Figgins thanked all those who volunteered during the season.
Colorguard – Patti Fronauer reported that the guard practice Wednesday from 3 – 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. at Silver Sands. Saturday, January 16th there will be a 10 hour practice from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. First show is on the 30th at Winter Springs – Blue October / 18th floor balcony.
Webmaster – Anthony Malena discussed adding Pay-pal to website link and advantages. Tax-exempt certificate, will mean lower fees to association.
Uniforms – Mary Flynn-Boener 50 tuxedo pieces are in. Please write name inside somewhere to identify garment owner. Spirit group and chaperones can pay for and pick up their t-shirts/sweatshirts for Europe. Kids will get their shirts before leaving for Europe.
Grants – Evelyn Jordan explained her efforts in looking for appropriate grants. If any one hears of grant opportunities, please contact Evelyn.
Banquet – Wendy shared the information on the end of the year banquet. Handshake agreement only. Will be signing contract soon. Date is May 15th. No price of tickets has been set yet.
Lakeside Jazz – Group will be in Tampa for All-State Convention to educate attendees on festival. All are welcome to attend LSJ meetings. They are held on third Thursday of each month. This year the festival will be held on April 16-17, 2010.
Calendar change – no concert on February 18th. This is 8th grade orientation.
Percussion camp tentatively set for February 13th and April 10th, making sure that middle schools are notified.
Practice logs from holiday assignments have been totaled Pizza party will be the prize to winning group.
February 2, 2010 – two charter buses travel to University of North Florida Jazz Festival, Jacksonville. Students will miss periods 4-7.
February 4, 2010 – One charter bus to FBA District Jazz Festival – no school missed.
February 5-6, 2010 – FBA District Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Assessment at Deltona Middle School – times will be posted – transportation TBA.
All County Band rehearsals set for January 12, 2010 at Deltona 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and January 14, 2010 at Spruce Creek.
Val Clerici reported that the students are practicing and focusing on solo ensemble.
Pancake Breakfast – Dorrine Dalley is working on the next pancake breakfast at Aunt Catfish. Date is March 6, 2010.
Car Wash – Stacey Rahm was able to determine that 42 cars were processed generating a profit to the band of $88.55. The car wash is willing to let us continue with this fundraiser.
