Shopping Cards – Pam Alexander reported that after the sale of the current shopping cards on hand, profit to association would be $1,000. Orders placed in band box by Friday, November 6, 2009 will be available for pick up at the November 17th mandatory Europe meeting. Begin holiday shopping orders now. Order form is available on-line at band website.

Car Wash Fundraiser - Stacey Rahm is chairing a new fundraiser with SUPER WASH EXPRESS. The code for the SCHSMPAA is 1999. The organization will receive 10 percent of the “total sales” purchased using the specific code number. The program starts now and will run through December 31, 2009. Window clings with the car wash code and brochures are available on the table in the band room. Spread the word to family and friends. The more cars washed and services ordered, the more money the SCHSMPAA will receive.

Colorguard – Patti Fronauer informed the membership that the performance Saturday evening at Colonial was great. The group is looking forward to FBA on Saturday and gearing up for Winterguard.

Adult Staffing - Lori Figgins had several clipboards to circulate for the last two football games and for FBA on Saturday.

Webmaster – Cindy Berdeguez reported for Anthony Malena. Anthony is busy updating the website. All are invited to take a look at the website, critique and make suggestions to Anthony.

Orchestra - Dr. Musson is very pleased and excited with the growth and progress of this year’s orchestra. Several students have rejoined from last year. There will be a performance at upcoming holiday concert. Predominantly ninth graders but all are having a good time.

Uniforms - Mary Flynn-Boener had to style hair this weekend making certain it did not hang in the face of many of the fellows during the competition at Colonial. All black dresses are in and will be distributed if paid for. There will be a phone number for alterations if needed. Tuxedo parts or pieces from John’s Bridal will be delivered in a week and distributed to students as long as everything is paid for. Band jackets orders for anyone wanting one would be placed soon. All orders must be paid for in advance. Cost for jacket is $48.00. Europe t-shirts and sweatshirts were displayed.

Pancake Breakfast - Pancake breakfast huge success - largest one to date. 500 served. Expenses totaled $310.00 everything else was donated. Approximately $4,000 gross profit. Brandon Galbreath suggested purchase of frozen French toast sticks for next breakfast that can be kept warm in their ovens while pancakes are being grilled. It was difficult keeping enough coffee ready. Thank you to Wanda Roberson for securing donations of food items. Flyers at campgrounds again for next Bike Week breakfast.

Luminary – Jan Albert has 44 drivers confirmed for the first week of the sale but is still in need of more drivers. Jan received orders from several churches covering most of the expenses associated with this sale. Wanda Roberson asked for assistance in securing donations of snacks for the students and drivers on December 5th. Parents, this is one of our major fundraisers, all are expected to participate. This is our 17th year of the sale. Watch for e-mails with details. You will need a vehicle to transport four students, about $30 in one dollar bills to make change if necessary, water bottles for hydration. All students will be told to bring money for the lunch break. New territories have been added.

Communications - Stacy Rahm asked if everyone was receiving the e-mails. If you are not receiving e-mails see Stacey.

Director’s Report - Mr. Kidd thanked all for attending – great turnout. Tuesday night is last marching band rehearsal. Would like to have a Field Night for the students. Band leadership will plan events for the students and would like Boosters to host an ice cream social on the field. Wanda Roberson will chair this and clipboard was passed around with names of volunteers who will contribute the necessary party items.

Treasurer’s Report – Terri Karol reported the bank balance was $259,473.38. This total includes the following: Europe trip payments - $221,791.49; Europe donations - $15,144.00; and Student Accounts - $6,451.55. The general fund balance is $16,086.34. Still large amount in outstanding fees, please see that these are brought current. No student will be permitted to travel to Germany unless his or her student account is current. Applause for Terri for all of her work.

Director’s Report - Dr. Musson shared that the marching season was almost over. In his first year he has been very impressed with the progress and pleased with the performance. Season is not over until a “superior” is received at FBA. Very confident in band and impressed most by pedagogical approach. Several members expressed their appreciation to the Directors for the successful year and growth and focus seen in the students. All-State band selections will be posted this week. Orchestra will be posted later. Mr. Kidd announced – “Parents, if your student is selected for All-State band/orchestra, you will be responsible for making your own reservations in Tampa this year.” Do not wait to do this. Dr. Musson stated that the holiday concert would be on December 10th complete with holiday music! The PRISM concert will be in April. Several students have been selected to accompany Marvin Hamlisch on January 20, 2010 when he performs at the Peabody. Sound of Music (November 20-22) contains many of our talented students. Do not miss it. Posters of this event are on the band table. Please take them to your employment and display.
