Lakeside Jazz – Mr. Kidd reported good and bad news. Brighthouse is still sponsor with $5,000 donation. However, CBL (Mall property owner) has notified us that they will be unable to sponsor this event. Their contribution was to be $7,500. In the process of securing another sponsor, perhaps Waste Management Company or other company. Lots of headliner groups on board and slate of judges named. Susan MacKenzie, Barb Hall and Mary Hoag will be at FMEA booth in Tampa this week working the LSJ booth.
Director’s Notes - Mr. Butler explained the calendar of events. All should check the band website weekly as it is constantly being updated. www.creekband.org A lot of information is posted there and we are attempting to minimize paper use/toner, etc. Tentative band camp dates have been set. Students should receive a postcard with time and date for photo proof viewing for January 22 and 23rd. Free Symphony Concert tickets for January 23rd at Peabody Auditorium, see Mr. Butler if interested.

February 17th – U.S. Airforce Jazz rock combo comes to SCHS for 4 hr. presentation/workshop. Also U.S. Marine All-Star for all instruments prior to Lakeside Jazz will visit SCHS.
Europe 2010 – Mr. Kidd reported that the “preview group” consisting of Directors Kidd, Butler, and McKaig and Spirit Group leader Susan MacKenzie and Vice President Cindy Berdeguez would be visiting all sites over the MLKing holiday. All pre-site logistics would be addressed. Currently have 198 people signed up to go. That mix consists of 124 students and 74 adults/chaperones/spirit. Trip to max out at 230.
