Guest clinicians scheduled over several weeks including Dr. Christeson, Dr. Musgrave, Dr. Adams, Dr. Gora and Mr. Kreines. Parents, please arrange schedules and appointments accordingly as these rehearsals are important and attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required and is a significant portion of final grade.

Deland will host the band concert last week in January. Orchestra and Jazz will be at SCHS in March this year.

Reminder of in-service points and the need to acquire at least 50 points for invite to banquet in Spring. Parents can earn 10 of those 50 points by volunteering. First luminary sale this weekend. Parents find creative ways to motivate the students that are selling. Holiday parade kick-off is 2 p.m on Sunday. Report time is 1:30p.m. behind Ross Dress for Less on Jackson Street. SCHS is the last band this year welcoming Santa.

Europe 2010 – Met and discussed with area assistant superintendents the trip. Trip will be placed on consent agenda of School Board on December 9th. 183 have paid their deposits. Five charter busses. Trip will max out at 230. Lists posted on bulletin board. Check if name is listed and what group you wish to travel in. (Chaperone or Spirit).

Stocking stuffer ideas – parents all students should have a metronome/tuner at home for their practice time. Individual photos were taken last month. Post card will be coming in mail with review times. Parents make sure price list is displayed for your selections. Band does not make money on these photos, receives a composite photo. Students need Santa hat for luminary sale. Shakos are worn at the parade!

Uniforms – Mary Flinn-Boener thanked all parents whose students worked with her in the closet this season. She appreciated their service and their dedication.
