General Meeting                                                       January 10, 2006

Meeting called to order 7:00 pm by Jenna Steen. Pledge of Allegiance recited.

President – Jenna Steen:

Secretary Report: Minutes for November 1^st and December 6^th accepted.

Treasurer’s Report: Terri Karol  Total cash $50,664. Luminary sales netted $26,900, best ever.  Fee collections best ever.

Uniforms: Mary Mathis Dresses came in, need help hemming, date to be announced, evening sewing party.

Peach Bowl: Anthony Malena has put Peach Bowl pictures and video on a 1 hour DVD, available for purchase, $5.

Chaperones: Martha Fabian OK for now.

Luminary: Susan Salerno Great success, thanked everyone for their help.

Color Guard: Getting set for Winterguard, will get dates. Creek girls are working with Creekside girls and competing in some of the same events.

Banquet: Donna Papa Rental increased to $850. Dinner stayed the same at the Daytona 500 Club on May 13^th.

Lakeside Jazz Fest: Susan MacKenzie Sign up sheets will be available at next meeting.

Band Captain: Andrew Angelo 31 students made it into All County Band. Practices Thurs. Jan 19^th 5 – 9 Deland High, Tues. Jan 24 5 – 9 Seabreeze High, Wed. Jan 25 1 – 9 Deland High, Thus. Jan 26^th Peabody 9 – 12.  Orchestra practices Tues. Jan. 10, 17 and 24^th 4 – 8 Seabreeze High and Thurs. 8:30 – 1:30 Peabody.  Performance Peabody Auditorium Thursday January 26^th at 7 pm, report 6:30.  All State January 5, 6 and 7, Melissa Kindy, Andrew Merideth and Jessie Christesen represented SCHS.  Peach Bowl, all had a great time, see A. Kidd email for awards. January 24^th 4pm, Volusia County School Board meeting, need people to be there to accept awards.

Director Andy Kidd: Jeremy Robins, new intern from Stetson, with us until May.  Peach Bowl: official video forms available from Mr. Kidd.  Kids were fabulous, thank you to all chaperones. News-journal paid for a photographer to go to Atlanta, Deland on west side neighbors and SCHS on south side.  All County Band schedules, see above.  We are hosting middle School solo and ensemble Feb 17^th 4 – 9 and 18^th all day.  20 – 30 rooms of judges for Seminole, Flagler and Volusia counties.  F & S concessions.  Hospitality room for judges, sign up next meeting.  Daytona Beach Symphonic Society, free concerts January 29, 7pm Jacksonville, Feb 23 8pm, Academy of St. Maartens in the Field.  Jan. 24^th, Deland Admin. Conf, school board meeting, June Hinkley Music Supervisor to give award.

Orchestra Middle School feeder program needs help.  No program exists.  Also need feeder school for chorus from our own zone.  Parents requested info on how to become a magnet/academy school for music.

Solo and Ensemble Feb 10 and 11.

Silent Auction: Teckla Lucignani is chair, needs help.  Will be the same day as the Port Orange St. Patrick’s Day celebration.  Plan ahead for sales.  Each person responsible for 2 individual and 1 group item.
