Spruce Creek High School Musical Performing Arts Association

General Meeting                                                       April 5, 2005  7:30 PM

Meeting called to order 7:40 pm by Rick Spitz.

Secretary Report –Minutes from the last meeting approved as written.

Nominating Committee – Margaret Roberts  Proposed slate of officers read.  Membership can nominate another person.  Voting will be done at the May meeting.  If more than one person for a position there will be a ballot vote.  Still need nomination for silent auction.  Committees need to be formed to review the budget, orchstra, credi card, and field crew.

Director – Andy Kidd, John Seth  State concert and symphonic bands perform April 20^th at Wesley Chapel HS, Tampa, $850 per bus.  Extra chaperones are needed for down time, leave 6:30 AM, return 9:00 PM.  State orchestra April 28^th in Miami, $950 per bus.  Orchestra S&E April 23rd in Ormond Middle School. Summer camp forms on table by phone.  Concession money from LJF goes to scholarships for kids to go to camp.  Planning Peach bowl trip, December 28, 29, 30, and 31, compete in all aspects with entire music department (2 concert bands, jazz bands, color guard, orchestra).  Game is 12/31. Cost about $380. 

Prism concert, May 12^th at 7 pm, rehearsals May 10 and 11 3 – 5:30. Coach Vito to bring varsity team to Prism concert.

Meeting May 23 for incoming freshman, 10^th, 11^th and 12^th graders.  Hopefully collect dues, give out lockers, etc.

Silent Auction – Net profit $11,000 +

Adult Staffing – Martha Fabian  Need volunteers for April 25^th and 28^th. 

Lakeside Jazz Fest – Biggest year yet.  Need parent volunteers to help.  Check in at command central.  Pam Angelo requesting sponsors for 2 new trophies, outstanding vocalist and outstanding soloist. See web site lakesidejazz.org for further information. 

Banquet – May 14 at Daytona Speedway 500 club, enter through gate 7 and turn onto pit row, park behind victory lane.  Need pictures for year in review, give to Mr McKaig. 

Make a Wish Foundation – We are collecting ink cartridges, toner cartridges and old cell phones for this organization who will pay us and then reuse the items.

Pam Angelo will hold a workshop for how to get ads.  Looking for suggestions for raising money.  Possible concession stand for baseball, 2 kids, one adult, about $ 50 per night. 

Senior night prints available at $10.
