Pushing hard to be ready for competition on Saturday at Santa Fe HS We are learning the 3rd song. Please come out and support us at the competition.

Treasurers Report - Terri Karol
Passed out updated P & L statement. Ken Lipowitz, Student Accounting, will be back in town soon and will update all student accounts. There are several students who have not yet paid their band dues. It is important that these fees be paid.
Director's Report - Andrew Kidd
This is 'Hell Week'. Schdule for week:
Practice Tuesday 10/7 6-9
Practice Wednesday 10/8 3-5:30
Practice Thursday 10/9 5-6 before game. Football game at Lake Brankley HS, return about 11:00
Practice Friday 10/10 8-12 (teacher duty day-no school)
Practice Saturday 10/11 9-12, lunch will be served cost $3.00, leave for competition at Santa Fe HS at 1:00, approx. return 1:00 AM
Parents please do not park in the roadway in front of the band room after the games or competitions. That is where the buses must park to disembark the students. Only park in parking spaces. The buses are having difficulty getting in.
October 17, Homecoming game at New Smyrna HS
All week - homecoming events: Tuesday nite, Field Nite, Wednesday, Pep Rally during school, Thursday, Homecoming Carnival during afternoon - all classes shortened to 30 minutes, Football game in evening Friday, Homecoming Dance
Practice everyday Oct. 21 - 24 to prepare for October 25th, Competition at Fernandina HS
Nov. 7th Friday, Senior Nite Parents need to report to visitors side at 7:00 New Smyrna Beach HS this is also Middle School nite.
Nov. 8th, Saturday. FBA (Marching Performance Assessment) at Spec Martin HS in Deland. Would like to see all parents come out in support to cheer on your band.
December 2nd, Tuesday, Symphonic Band Concert
December 7th, Sunday, Port Orange Holiday Parade, 1:15 set up behind Albertsons. This year the band will be in the beginning of the parade.
December 8th, Monday All County try-outs
December 9th, Tuesday Universal Macy's Parade Parade kicks off at 5:15
December 11th, Thursday Tentative date for Disney Parade 8:00 PM
Capital Fund Raising Campaign Report - still in preliminary stage.
Planning a Black Tie Ball on March 27th "Ebony & Ivory" at the Hilton
Lakeside Jazz Festival Event - March 2004

It is time to step up and help out so that this event can continue to run smoothly. The event will be extended to 2-1/2 days in 2003 and they will be adding
a photography expo. It is a FREE event for the community that gets nationwide attention. Those who can donate time, please come forward and help.

Adult Staffing - Keith Kopshina
need more volunteers to chaperone for games and events. Chaperones need to meet at 5:00 in Chorus Room to go over events activities and duties.

Uniform Report - Mary Mathis
Order forms for the new jackets will be available in a few days. The cost of the jacket will be $30. and will arrive in time for Christmas gift giving. This is a nice light-
weight, waterproof jacket that the students will get much more use from than past jackets.
Concessions - Joe & Donna Papa
October 17th - Homecoming. Need menwith trucks to help transport tables, chairs, equipment. This will be an outdoor stand which will take alot of help to
set up and break down. Need volunteers to work concession as well. This is HOMECOMING, and a large crowd is expected. Please help.
Luminaries - Jenna Steen
Supplies are being ordered. Pre-sale bulk purchase order forms were passed out. If organizations, clubs, etc. purchase in excess of 10 kits, they will be
offered a discount. Luminary days are Saturday, Dec. 6th & Saturday, December 13th. All parents must participate with either driving or in-school help. Sign-
up sheets passed around.
Silent Auction - Bonnis Harris
Schedule for either March 14th or 25th. Waiting to hear from the Port Orange Library if facility will be available againthis year. Request that each student donate
a theme basket this year. Band will be broken up into groups and each group will do a basket.
Parliamentarian - Ken Palmer
By-law changes will be posted on the Web for approval at the next meeting. Ken discussed the changes and why they were made.
Next Band Parent Meeting will be held Tuesday, November 4th, 2003 at 7:00 in the Band Room. We would like to see more parents attend these meeting.
