February And Beyond
Everyone get ready for the next round of music events!

First, there's the monthly parent meeting on Tuesday February 6 at 7pm (in the band room). Next, there is Solo & Ensemble on Feb 9-10, followed by the Play-A-Thon on Feb 15.

In March, there is the Concert Festival on the 1st and 2nd, and the 12 O'Clock Jazz Band will go to FSU on the 3rd for a performance. March 29th will be the Pyramid Concert which features elementary and middle school bands playing with our Spruce Creek Hawks.

All in all, it's a busy two months! The year's not over yet, so stay tuned!!


Upcoming Events
LUMINARIAS: On Wednesday, December 6th, the band is having a Sweatshop to help prepare for the upcoming sale. Watch your email, or talk with your student, for more information!
PRISM CONCERT: Be sure your band member(s) sign up to participate in the annual Prism Concert. Signups are being accepted up till the week of the event!
CHINA TRIP: Anyone who would like to conribute photos or videos to the 2006-2007 DVD, please contact Anthony Malena (webmaster link on this website) ASAP.


Current Events
NOTE:   Congratulations to the band for obtaining STRAIGHT SUPERIOR RATINGS in all categories at the 2006 Florida Bandmasters Association field show assessment! Great job!!

NOTE:   Join us in wishing the 12 O'Clock Jazz Band a fond farewell as they head to China. It's sure to be a trip to remember.

NOTE:   Start preparing to help the band with Luminaria sales in December. All parents are expected to help, as this fundraiser results in a huge portion of the band's year budget. It's a load of fun! Don't miss out!! Please plan on attending the monthly Parent Meeting on Tuesday, November 7th at 7:00pm (at the band room).


St. Augustine Ancient City Awards
Spruce Creek participated in the 2006 St. Augustine Ancient City competition on October 28th, and came away with some great awards, and received the highest music rating!

The music staff at Creek congratulate all the students for their hard work and dedication to their art.


12 O'Clock Jazz Dinner/Dance At Elks Club
Saturday, October 14th at the Port Orange Elks Club, enjoy a night of food and dancing with the SCHS 12 O'Clock Jazz Band! Cost is only $10 and is open the public. Enjoy stuffed Chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, roll and dessert, or just have a drink. Help support the Jazz Band in it's upcoming trip to China. Elks Club is located on the corner of US 1 and Commonwealth Avenue, across from the First Turn Bar and Grill

Toner Cartridges and Cell Phones
Please save and bring all used printer toner cartridges and old cell phones to the band room.   We are working with "Kartridges for Kids", a recycling program that will earn money for both the music department as well as needy children in our area.
