General Meeting October 5, 2004 7:30 PM
Meeting called to order 7:30 pm by Rick Spitz.
Secretary Report – Susan MacKenzie Minutes from the last meeting approved as written.
Band Captain – Travis Eales Band working hard to make up for lost time. Thanked parents for support.
Corresponding Secretary – B.J. Mitchell Phone list being updated. Students received form to be filled out for updated info, due Wed, 10/6. Alex Bodytko needs help with web site, Lyle Brambier volunteered.
Treasurer – Terri Karol/Elaine Kinion See attached report. Sun Trust account being closed due to fees charged, new account opened with Sun Shine. Email Terri if you need student acct. info music@kintech.com Band fees $180, Just Jazz band or Orchestra $75 plus $50 fair share
Director – Andy Kidd, John Seth Review of current calendar, Disney parades TBA, Free concerts at Peabody (mandatory), 11/22 band photos, All County tryouts 2nd week of Dec., Symphonic Band rehearsals Tues and Thurs in Dec and Jan., Jan and Feb orchestra rehearsals to have winds added, everyone required to participate in Solo and Ensemble either as a solo or with a group, tape tests for students due every other week, FBA 2/25 & 2/26. Salesman to come to school to sell S & E music, date TBA. Winter concert date TBA, uniforms to be distributed before concert. Band room will be evacuated in December for safety reasons for the construction to continue. PO Family Days performance moved to 11/13. Tux is uniform, vest and tie to be issued, you need to purchase shirt and pants (measurements will be taken during class). Color guard needs help sewing flags, someone with a serger. Suggestion to purchase a serger. Friday 10/8 is Middle School recruitment night, we need water contributions, please bring a six pack of water.
Adult Staffing – Martha Fabian Sign up sheets passed around for upcoming games. Need field help and concession help. 670 Volunteer hours to date.
Uniform Report – Mary Mathis Plenty of polos and white shirts. Jackets and bags are still on order.
Concessions – Angela & Santiago Wallace Help is needed for all games. More coolers are needed. Teens can help at the concession stand, can not ride on school bus to the game.
Football Programs – Nancy Lowden Norman Programs from last game were temporary, printer was robbed during the hurricanes, program being fixed for next game. Pictures of band that will be in the program were shared, can be purchased, see Nancy.
Luminaries – Jenna Steen Committee met tonight, publicity and maps being worked on. Looking into new vendor offering lower cost. Sign up sheets distributed for Sweat shop 11/22&23 and for drivers for the sales. Presale forms distributed. Save 100 ounce detergent bottles and boxes.
