Graeme Buchele from AWOL Travel handed out itineraries for the London Trip.  There will be one chaperon for every six students.  Two or three students per room.  Encourage students to sign up with those they want to hang out with as they will be with this group the entire trip.  There will be one AWOL staff member for every 3 chaperones.  Cancellation Trip Insurance covers a terrorist incident within 30 days of departure from travel thru or arrival in any city of departure, transfer or arrival.  Insurance would also cover medical emergencies or death in the family. A school board decision not to go would not be covered by insurance. Insurance policy must be in affect for 30 days prior to departure.  The Executive Board has decided to pay for 1/2 of the cost of insurance ($39) to be paid for with Fundraising.   A letter from Stan Schmidt will go out stating all will be required to have trip insurance and to explain the policies and what is covered.  AWOL statements A thru P are available.

Money still coming in from luminary sales.  Thanks for the great support.  A committee is set up for next year.

·         Silent Auction: Still looking for a chairperson.  See Stan if willing to chair.  A small group has been formed.  Date set tentatively for March 14.  Hope to move date to the 20th to coincide with the Lakeside Jazz Fest.

·         Capital Campaign: Rick Spritz

There are no spring events planned due to the London trip. The capital campaign will not begin its main thrust until next year.

·         London Trip Fundraising:  Ken Palmer

Ken Palmer reported we have four major fundraising possibilities before April to bring in money from the outside community:

1.        Hole in One Tournament at Cypress Head.  Cost of $172 to set up.  Tickets would be sold for $10 each with an estimated $7-9 per ticket going into individual student accounts. The 10 closest to hole come back at the end of the month and if they make a hole in one they win 1 million dollars.

2.        Vehicle Vault. $10 per chance to guess the vault combination with a key of a $50,000 car/ Hummer inside. Insurance would be about $800 based on the amount charged for a chance - this amount would be based on the estimated amount of chances sold and the vehicle value. We need a site for this event and also a car dealership to sponsor.  Monies raised would go into group accounts. This is a one-day event during Speed Week.

3.        Vault for motorcycle.  Same as above.  During Bike Week.  We need a site for this event.

4.        Vault for vehicle.  Same as above.  During Jazz Fest

The Amos family - KIA dealership will look into sponsorship.

The first $4000 of fundraising will reimburse London trip insurance expenses.

Some additional fund-raisers could include "Adopt a Student" as used for the Pasadena trip and "Fly a Hawk to London" buy a body part.  More on these at the Feb meeting.
